South Bay is an autonomous (self governing) church which does not make its affiliation with other associations of churches a primary emphasis.  Our choice to affiliate with the following associations of churches however, is based in our agreement with their models of ministry, support of national and international missions and ministry related programs which bring strength and effectiveness beyond what South Bay can do by itself.

South Bay is associated with four recognized associations of churches:

Willow Creek Association: An association of churches patterned after Willow Creek Church in Chicago, Ill.  This model of church ministry emphasizes being sensitive to “seeker” in programming and scheduling.  Contemporary music, multi-media and dramatic arts, conversational toned messages and relevant need meeting ministries characterize these churches.

The Tampa Bay Baptist Association: An association of the 161 churches and missions that co-operate together in fellowship and endeavor to reach Hillsborough County for Jesus Christ.

The Florida Baptist Convention: An association of the 2,699 churches and missions that co-operate together to reach the State of Florida for Jesus Christ.

The Southern Baptist Convention: An association of over 46,831 churches and missions to co-operate together in a worldwide effort of missions.
