Crisis in Haiti

Please pray for the family of Pastor David and the Bethany Baptist Christian School in Haiti. David's father has been a missionary there for over 30 years and is there now. This school is located approx. 20 miles from the epicenter of the earthquakes. David's father contacted him this morning. This last quake even though brief has added to the unrest and tension of this disaster. The school remains open to supply food to those in need. Supplies are running short, due to the increased need and they are in the process of having a shipment of supplies flown in to Jacmel and then transported to Cayes-Jacmel. Reports from Jacmel are that word has spread that Jacmel has supplies and this has created a large increase in the population of this small city. One news source reported that 80,000 homeless are now in Jacmel. Without the resources that are being sent to Port Au Prince this large increase in people in need could create added problems in a city that has reported that up to 80% of all buildings have been destroyed. Please visit haitigospelministries.org for future updates, or to make a donation to help the people in this out lying area of the country. 100% of the money goes to the people there, not for any American’s budget or salary. They need money for food, medical, rebuilding of homes and lives of the students and teachers and church members of this city. After that we want to reach out and help rebuild the community where the school and church exists. This is an excellent opportunity for us to show love in a dark place, after all,…Love works best in the darkest of places and in the darkest of times. Please continue to pray for all of Haiti, the school, and the Speichers.

We were blessed by a visit from 10 news' Isabell Mascarenas, who picked up on the plight of Haiti Gospel Ministries and Jim Speicher.
